Welcome to Steam Crow

We make monsters!

We draw monsters, invent their stories, and make products based on them. We’ve been creating monsters for years, but in 2005 my wife Dawna suggested that we could illustrate and create our very own book of monsters, Monster Commute. Now, seven years later, Daniel is making a living at it.

Read our full story, have a look at our monster goods, and thanks for stopping buy!

Here’s our latest Steam Crow print: Invent Tomorrow Today! It was inspired by the 1935 Chicago World’s Fair, old time optimism, and the sense that technology could save us all. I like to think of it as inspiration for making your life the way that you want to live Read more »

Here’s our latest art print: The cabinet of Dr. Caligari! This was a fun one to illustrate since Dr. Caligari himself wears a tall hat, and a sour expression. Did you know that he was Tim Burton’s inspiration for the Penguin in Batman Returns? (He was, it’s true.) The Read more »

Beastio, he wants to be your friend. Your BookFace Friend. I’d probably ignore him myself; he’s pretty needy. Music by Kevin MacLeod. He rocks. Puppet by me. I rock less. I’m on BookFace too. – Daniel

While at WonderCon this year, we were interviewed by IdeateTV, which you can see above. WonderCon was a good show this year; a tad bit slower than we anticipated, but we still did well enough. I’m pretty sure that if it remains in Anaheim, we’ll benefit from moving our booths Read more »
