Welcome to Steam Crow

We make monsters!

We draw monsters, invent their stories, and make products based on them. We’ve been creating monsters for years, but in 2005 my wife Dawna suggested that we could illustrate and create our very own book of monsters, Monster Commute. Now, seven years later, Daniel is making a living at it.

Read our full story, have a look at our monster goods, and thanks for stopping buy!

Beastio, he wants to be your friend. Your BookFace Friend. I’d probably ignore him myself; he’s pretty needy. Music by Kevin MacLeod. He rocks. Puppet by me. I rock less. I’m on BookFace too. – Daniel

While at WonderCon this year, we were interviewed by IdeateTV, which you can see above. WonderCon was a good show this year; a tad bit slower than we anticipated, but we still did well enough. I’m pretty sure that if it remains in Anaheim, we’ll benefit from moving our booths Read more »

Episode 278: Chalice Chat with guest stars Little Vampires. James and Rebecca Hicks are great friends of ours, and they were willing to join us for our very first filming. It was crazy, and it was fun, and it was weird. Just how we like it. I have to say Read more »

So, this month we’re going to be in Seattle for the Emerald City Comicon. (Article about that, here.) We were invited to be in the MINT Condition art show, which is corresponding with the convention. It’s a pop-culture comic gallery show, as far as I can tell. If you know me, I Read more »

Beastio demon puppet

A Weird Puppet Show I finally started making the Steam Crow Show with a bunch of friends. I love the world of Monstru and our Monster Commute comic, but found that I’ve been burnt out on the schedule and production of it. I needed to do something new with the Read more »

Okay, so after a couple of years of planning/working/building puppets and failing… it’s time to finally unveil the Steam Crow Show, warts and all. I’d been talking about making the puppets for probably at least a year or two before that… It was definitely the plan within a year of Read more »

Emerald City Comicon (ECCC) is coming once again, and yet again, we’re excited as we could be. ECCC is one of the best shows in the country; it’s big but not too big, the people are awesome, the facility is fantastic, and it’s located in downtown Seattle. It rules, and Read more »
