Beauty and the Beast (La Belle et la Bête) is a traditional fairy tale first written in 1740 by Gabrielle-Suzanne Barbot de Ville, of French. The original version features a magic ring, mirror, and a very sad and beastly beast.
We like the the traditional elegance of the original title, so we didn't bother translating it to English. We wanted to evoke the baroque feel of the story with the fabric texture, gothic typeface, and vintage colors.
